At Greet we take a mastery approach to mathematics, learning time is spent reinforcing core knowledge, and depth of knowledge is prioritised. Our aim is for our pupils to gain a deep understanding of Maths and be confident, resilient mathematicians with a passion for the subject. As a school we introduce new concepts to pupils by first using concrete representations, then progressing to pictorial representations, and finally challenging pupils to use abstract methods. The White Rose Schemes of Learning also share this philosophy, which is why we have adopted them as a school.
