Our wider curriculum unit this half term is, 'Battle of Hastings.'
During this unit children will learn about William the Conqueror. They will learn why William came to England and use a range of sources, including the Bayeaux Tapestry, to find information out about the Battle of Hastings.
In Geography lessons children will learn about Warwick Castle and where it is. They will look at the human and physical geography of the area and consider why the castle would have been built there. Children will use maps and atlases to explore and compare Warwick and Sparkhill.

The Castle the Kings Built by Rebecca Colby.
This half term Year 1 will be looking at counting in 5s, 10s and 2s, making equal groups, adding equal groups, sharing equal groups and word problems.
