Our wider curriculum unit this half term is, 'Pyramids, hieroglyphs and treasures.'
In this unit children will be asked to develop an Ancient Egypt exhibition that will be interesting and factual for younger children.
In History lessons, children will conduct a detailed study into Ancient Egypt and explore where it fits in chronologically compared to previous history units studied. They will learn about Egyptian life, the significance of the River Nile, the pyramids, their gods and beliefs, mummification and the hieroglyphs.
In Geography lessons children will locate Egypt on a map and zoom in to look closely at the physical and human geography visible. Children will look at how the Nile is drawn on a map and look at the physical and human impact of the River Nile.
