Our topic this half term is, 'Rise of the robots.'
This is an exciting unit that looks at the history of robotics as well as the continued impact robots are having on the modern world. Children will construct different circuits, that include the use of lights, sensors and buzzers, to make their own simple robots. They will conduct and write up scientific investigations to explore how circuits work and the impact of adding or taking away cells.
Through History lessons, children will find out how robots have changed the world. They will study influential figures in the world of electronics and will be able to imagine what life would be like without robots/electronic inventions. They will find out about Thomas Parker who formed the first company to distribute electricity over a wider area.
