At Greet, we supply our pupils with school meals that are not only cooked from scratch using fresh, healthy, nutritious ingredients but are also good value for money.
Being a healthy school, we aim to ensure that pupils are served a balanced, healthy meal everyday so we provide a wide variety of food choices including: a meat dish, fish dish and vegetarian options for our non-meat eaters. Our staff are highly aware of food allergies so we can guarantee that all of our children are catered for.
School dinners are served daily in the Dining Hall and Key Stage 1 Hall.
To make our dinners exciting, we regularly offer theme days to give children our children an opportunity to try new foods. Recently these have included World Book Day, Chinese New Year, and Seaside – Fish & Chip Day.
Dinner money needs to be paid each week on Monday and can be paid anytime throughout the day for the whole week. School meals should be paid via MyChildAtSchool.
School dinners are FREE for all children in Reception, Year 1 & 2.
Free School Meals
Important Information: Free School Meals Eligibility from September 2026
I would like to make you aware of an important change to Free School Meals eligibility, which will take effect from September 2026.
From September 2026, there will no longer be an earnings limit for families in receipt of Universal Credit. This means that if your family receives Universal Credit, you may be eligible to claim Free School Meals for your child.
However, please note that a child will only receive Free School Meals where an application has been made and eligibility has been verified by the Local Authority, these will be checked on an annual basis.
If you are in receipt of Universal Credit, it is very important that you complete an application before September 2026 to avoid your child not receiving Free School Meals when we return after the summer break.
Please click on the link below and complete the application as soon as possible, alternatively please print or pick up a paper form from the main office.
