Recognition for hard working Create Partnership teacher Rukhsar Begum

The Prime Minister and Education Secretary recently hosted 100 teachers at no. 10 Downing Street - including Greet Primary Schools first “home-grown” teacher.

 

Rukhsar Begum is a hard working and passionate primary school teacher based at Greet Primary School, part of Create Partnership Trust based in Birmingham. Not only does Rukhsar teach at Greet, she was also a Greet student until leaving for secondary school in 2004! And such was her devotion to the school, she returned whilst in year 10 for her work experience. ’s passion and love for the school continued and she again returned to Greet during her college placement, whilst at University and for her first job as an NQT. Rukhsar is now in her third year as a Qualified Teacher at Greet.

 

Around 100 teachers were invited to 10 Downing Street on the 21 May for a reception hosted by the Prime Minister Theresa May and Education Secretary Damian Hinds to celebrate their hard work, talent and commitment to giving every child an excellent education. Mrs May and Mr Hinds paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of the teaching profession.

 

In a statement, Prime Minister Theresa May said: “We know that the success of every young person, in whatever they go on to do in life, is shaped by the education they receive at school.

 

“That’s why I was delighted to welcome teachers to Downing Street to celebrate their achievements and to thank them for the vital work they do day-in and day-out.”

 

CEO of Create Partnership Trust Pat Smart said “we really wanted to enable one of our most dedicated staff to attend this prestigious event and Rukhsar really embodies Greet Primary School and Create through and through. We are very proud of her and her achievements.”

 

Rukhsar really enjoyed the event and felt over the moon to be selected and commented “It was in a once in a lifetime opportunity to be inside Downing Street and she felt proud to be representing the teachers on the ground working day to day with the children.”
